Harmony and balance, the hallmarks of the Doge armchair
Narrative of living spaces, research, evolution and reworking of the style, development of a consistent and distinctive language: these are the cornerstones of the stylistic path Bonaldo has pursued for almost 90 years.
A constantly evolving path that, this year, is summed in the concept of “Evolutionary”, defining the new 2024 collection, creating solutions that reflect the idea behind the design where the environment, products and people are considered key elements.
Every Bonaldo product embodies versatility and elegance, features that showcase the B/Style concept, the integrated furnishing programme creating a common thread between the various elements of the different collections. The Doge armchair, designed by Mauro Lipparini, is an excellent example of this.
Elegant, simple and contemporary, the Doge armchair is paired here with the Flac coffee table, whose tempered fused glass top recreates the effect of the water surface, and with the Pepita floor lamp, which changes and adapts depending on the perspective, like a multi-faceted precious gem.
The Boolean sofa, a timeless haven of style and comfort, adds further interest, transforming the living space together with the Rabat rug, inspired by abstract artistic currents, with its signature shapes and different combination options.
DOGE armchair, design Mauro Lipparini
The name of the family of armchairs is inspired by the figure of the Doge, the head of government at the time of the Venetian “La Serenissima” Republic. The presence of two flaps that wrap around the seat starting from the armrest are reminiscent of the Doge’s headgear, giving the armchair’s shape a sense of distinction and authority. The evocation of a 1970s aesthetic, together with an explicit sense of modernity in concept and material, puts the Doge in a world where elegance and simplicity of design reign supreme.
The Doge armchair is available in three models. The armchair with upholstered base imbues the configuration with a sense of compactness and balance in proportions and offers a sense of comfort from the first glance every time it is used. The other two variants are light and raised: one is more modernist, with a central four-legged base and swivel mechanism while the other has striking solid wood legs. The three different versions convey an immediate personal confidentiality in their appearance, revealing themselves to be casual yet elegant both in residential furnishings and in the world of hospitality.
