Opinion Ciatti upholsters its seats with Casentino cloth
A true excellence of Tuscan manufacturing production exported all over the world, Casentino cloth underlines the strong link between Opinion Ciatti and the territory.
Already known in Etruscan times, Casentino is a fabric made of sheep’s wool, originating in the Casentino valley in the province of Arezzo. The result of a 17-stage manufacturing process, it is made unmistakable by two phases in particular: fulling and rattling. Fulling is a type of felting that makes the fabric waterproof while rattling (a special brushing originally performed with a stone) creates the characteristic curls that turn it into a wear-resistant material.
Casentino cloth makes the upholstered items in Opinion Ciatti’s catalogue burst with colour: it comes in five different colours, from the softest white and biscuit to the brightest red, green and blue, but upon request it is also available in no less than 37 colour variations, which are added to the more than 500 coverings that Opinion Ciatti offers for its upholstered furniture.
Below we present some products covered in durable, waterproof and colourful Casentino cloth.
B.duo/B.tri, designed by Bruno Rainaldi
An unconventional armchair that brightens up any room. In this picture B.duo is covered with blue Casentino cloth and becomes even more of an eye-catcher!
An original, unstructured armchair made up of two (B.duo) or three cylinders (B.tri) of different heights connected by a steel base. Perfect for leisure, study, and work, this unconventional armchair invites to individual use but can inspire conviviality, too: the cylinders become a welcoming place whenever you feel the need for sharing and closeness. Original and versatile, available in leather or fabric, and now also in Casentino, the B.duo and B.tri seats give a touch of novelty to all spaces, at home as well as in a modern office, in a hotel room or in the most advanced training centres.
Mammamia, designed by Marcello Ziliani
In this picture the young, informal design and the sinuous lines of the Mammamia chairs are enhanced by the Casentino fabric in blue, but of course you can choose any of the available colours according to your project’s requirements.
Mammamia is the company’s best-selling chair collection. With a die-cast aluminium shell and steel structure, Mammamia is characterised by versatility of use and a simple, linear form. It is a striking collection for the sheer variety of models available: stackable or non-stackable, with or without armrests, hard or upholstered, glossy or matt, textured or with mirror effect, minimal or decorated, covered in gold leaf, leather, faux fur or fabric including now also the Casentino version.
YumYum, designed by Lapo Ciatti
The Yum Yum armchair is perfect when upholstered in warm red Casentino wool fabric. A fun pouf with a backrest, suitable for every situation.

The result is an original combination of design and functionality thanks also to the convenient side pocket and the removable cover for easy cleaning and maintenance. Yum Yum, is available as a single armchair, two-seater sofa or extra-large armchair. The backrest in curved solid ash wood can be enriched with fabric upholstery, available in the same finish as the seat.
