Ciclotte: from the Prototype to a Cult Piece of Design. The Case-Study.
A designer’s idea, an open-minded company, the fine intuition of an art director and a well-planned marketing strategy: here you have the ingredients which gave birth to Ciclotte, the innovative exercise-bike which is today a must in the interior design and luxury fitness sectors, a case study for every marketing professional.
Designed by Luca Schieppati, a young designer from Milan, and manufactured by the Lamiflex Group in Bergamo, Ciclotte breaks the rules of gym equipment’s design that always emphasized only functional aspects, to address a target market of progressive and dynamic users that appreciate both fitness and aesthetics.
Fitness tool and decoration object at the same time, Ciclotte is the evolution of the Ciclò project, an innovative prototype of mono-wheel city-bike, which is now part of the permanent collection of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.
With Luigina Bernini (Lamiflex Group President), Luca Schieppati (designer), and Luca Bonfanti (product manager), we will go through Ciclotte history and we will have a backstage look at this marketing study.
