Prelude to arrival: signature hospitality from the Maldives

A contract project that transforms waiting time into an emotional landscape. The private lounge at Kuramathi Resort redefines the concept of airport hospitality in the Maldives.

On the second floor of the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal, the largest hub in the world dedicated to seaplanes, inside Malé’s Velana International Airport, lies the Kuramathi Seaplane Lounge. It is not merely a transit space for guests but a whispered introduction to the island experience: one of peace, nature, and light.

Elements such as natural wood, light marble, and soft, never intrusive lighting compose the essential grammar of the project. The environment opens discreetly towards the outside, framing the liquid horizon of the Maldives as a natural extension of the interior.

Highlighting the visual identity of the space is the Special Edition Jardin d’Hiver Collection Aqualunae wallcovering on GlamTrace, a wallcovering in non-woven fabric made of cellulose fiber that enhances the irregularities of the natural texture in aquamarine tones. A subject that vibrates in unison with the shades of the sea and sky, creating a rarefied, fluid, immersive visual continuity.

This lounge concept invites sensory suspension: the place of transit is not an interruption of the journey but a rite of passage. A discreet project that restores depth to the act of hospitality with the silent grace of those who understand the value of time.
