New Life furnishes the renovated Hotel La Müda in Badia
After more than half a century, Hotel La Müda begins a new chapter in Badia, in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. Entrusted to the studio Castlunger Homes, the renovation gives the property a fresh identity while respecting the landscape and architectural character of Alta Badia, bringing together tradition and contemporary design.

The building’s exterior architecture reflects the connection to the Alpine setting. The façades are clad in vertical larch boards, offering a contemporary interpretation of local building traditions. The wood, whose colour naturally evolves over time, contributes to the gradual integration of the buildings into the surrounding landscape. Inside, the same pursuit of harmony guides the design of the hospitality spaces. This is where New Life comes in, with seating from the Alisha collection chosen to furnish different areas of the hotel.
Designed by Alan De La Coba, Alisha is a family of seating developed for the contract sector, defined by soft, enveloping forms that convey comfort and a sense of welcome. Chairs, lounge armchairs and stools share the same design language and can be configured with different types of base. For Hotel La Müda, lounge armchairs with swivel metal bases were selected for the guest rooms, while armchairs and stools with solid beech bases furnish the restaurant areas, in keeping with the extensive use of wood throughout the hotel’s architecture, both inside and out.

From the guest rooms to the shared spaces and restaurant, the different versions of Alisha create a consistent thread throughout the project, bringing the comfort of upholstered seating to the pared-back, inviting design of Hotel La Müda. With the Alisha collection, New Life contributes to defining the identity of Hotel La Müda’s interiors, bringing a language of comfort, enveloping forms and design continuity to its hospitality spaces.
