New Life furnishes Cascina Mumbèl

There is an image that has long been part of Lombard culture: the farmhouse, a place for gathering, sharing and enjoying cuisine deeply rooted in the local area. It is from this idea that Cascina Mumbèl was born, the new restaurant and wine bar inaugurated in Montebello della Battaglia (Pavia). Within a space of approximately 500 square metres, designed to accommodate more than 200 guests, materials such as wood, brick, iron and exposed beams evoke the architectural language of the traditional farmhouses of the Pavia area.

In this project, the interior design, curated by architect Alessandro Ghiringhelli, plays a central role in defining the character of the restaurant. New Life  furnishings complement the dining experience with an understated and distinctive design language, helping to create a welcoming, cohesive and functional environment.

Taking centre stage in the restaurant area are the Martina seating collection and the Martino tables, both designed by Alessandro Ghiringhelli. The two collections share a distinctive graphic identity, expressed through the unique design of their legs, inspired by high-voltage transmission towers. This design reference transforms an element of the landscape into a solution that combines visual lightness, stability and character. The Martina collection includes chairs and stools available in a variety of configurations, with or without upholstery, backrests and armrests, meeting the restaurant’s different functional needs, while the Martino tables complete the setting with an understated yet distinctive presence. The use of solid beech wood, also available with FSC® certification, reflects New Life’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and sustainability.

Adjacent to the main dining area is a lounge space, conceived as an intimate setting where guests can relax before or after their meal. Here, the Hellen Soft armchairs and Ubi side tables, both designed by Alan De La Coba, create a welcoming and refined atmosphere. Characterised by a soft cushion resting on a solid wood frame, the Hellen Soft armchairs are paired with the Ubi side tables, distinguished by their diamond-cut legs. Shades of ochre and olive green, combined with natural materials, help create a relaxed atmosphere that completes the Cascina Mumbèl experience.

The project confirms New Life’s ability to meet the needs of contemporary hospitality through solutions that combine design research, manufacturing quality and sensitivity to context. At Cascina Mumbèl, design goes beyond simply furnishing the spaces, becoming an integral part of the overall experience and helping transform a large restaurant into a place where hospitality is expressed through comfort, identity and a sense of connection.
