Opinion Ciatti presents Corkcrete

There is a quiet beauty in cork, a gentle and resilient material that knows how to protect and endure. There is poetry in its transformation into Corkcrete, an innovative finish born from the union with natural water-based resins, capable of giving shape to a new idea of sustainable design. Opinion Ciatti brings this story to life with the 6th episode of the video “The Shape of Values”, a visual narrative that is much more than a technical story. It is an invitation to rethink matter as an expression of value, a tribute to the earth, to design intelligence and to the human touch. This sixth episode is part of a video project through which the company illustrates the creation of its products.

Corkcrete is the result of an ambitious challenge: to create a material that combines aesthetics, strength and environmental responsibility. Its core is cork, a natural and renewable resource capable of enclosing air within its microscopic cavities, offering thermal insulation, comfort and durability. An ecological compound designed to withstand adverse conditions – humidity, temperature fluctuations, rain or snow – while preserving its integrity both indoors and outdoors. But what truly makes Corkcrete special is the vision behind it. Opinion Ciatti is the first company to introduce this material into the world of furniture design, applying it to a selection of iconic and contemporary pieces.

This is how new versions come to life: ILtavolo 2.0, the Mammamia chair by Marcello Ziliani, LAlampada, the Hercle and Herclino tables, and the more recent ILletto, now also designed for outdoor use. Joining them is Axis, the outdoor kitchen unveiled at the Salone del Mobile 2025, a contemporary reinterpretation of a project from the 1980s. These objects become ambassadors of a new, conscious aesthetic, where matter is not just a surface, but a story, a statement of intent, a commitment to the future.

“The Shape of Values” is a video, but above all a declaration of love for a way of designing that places coherence, innovation and respect for the environment and for those who inhabit the world at its core.

A form that tells of values, and values that take form.
