Bonaldo wins the Good Design Award with Flatiron table

Bonaldo has been awarded the Good Design Award for Flatiron table, designed by Mauro Lipparini. The jury recognised the clarity of the design and its ability to translate architectural inspiration into a project intended for everyday use.

The Good Design Award is one of the most established international design awards. Founded in Chicago in 1950, it has, for more than seventy years, highlighted projects that combine design quality with lasting relevance. The award is presented by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design in collaboration with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.

The Flatiron table draws inspiration from the Fuller Building in New York, better known as the Flatiron Building, one of the early symbols of American architectural modernity. Its bold form, made famous by Alfred Stieglitz’s photograph from 1903, is interpreted by Mauro Lipparini as a cultural reference rather than a formal one, an idea that endures over time and turns a structural gesture into design language.

The idea of an unconventional sense of balance guides the design of the table. The asymmetrical base, with a clear architectural character, defines the space without dominating it. The slightly trapezoidal tabletop, softened by gently curved edges, lightens the overall geometry and allows the table to sit naturally within refined residential settings.

Available in three sizes and a range of material options, the Flatiron table brings an icon of modern architecture into contemporary living.
